Los Angeles native Afroman classic song Because I Got High recently certified platinum by RIAA5/17/2023 For most independent artists staying consistent and promoting all their music is a difficult task with little to no recognition or reward however there are examples of the payoff when you stay on the gas and continue to work. Afroman released his debut single “Because I Got High” in July 2001. 22 years later his hit single has been certified platinum by the RIAA. Afromans hit single would be nominated for a Grammy in 2003 for Best Solo Rap Performance. After the success of the single, he would go on to sign a six-album deal with Universal. Afroman would have success in non-traditional markets being an early adopter of using the internet to market, promote, and distribute his music. Afroman would also be added to Cypress Hill’s festival lineup and continue to perform on large stages and festivals. 2023 he is still touring and making his brand of unique music. Congratulations to the OG.

The multi-talented musician, engineer, artist, and lifestyle brand ambassador always seems to impress with his offerings. In this latest drop “#TSFIL” which stands for “Think She Fell In Love” the artist shows his ability to be a complete visionary. Writing and recording himself for several years now has produced a unique presentation and sound one that is unique enough to separate himself from other artists of his caliber but not so unique you can’t relate to it. Throughout the early 2010s AD made a name for himself by dropping consistently well-received mixtapes. With one of his songs, “I Got the Juice” hitting the radio. The Compton artist would take a break from music and move his talent to No Jumper. Gaining popularity quickly as Adam22’s co-host and eventually landed his own show on the platform and co-hosted another. Things would take a turn several weeks ago as several others and AD would split from Adam 22 and No Jumper over betrayal, and sheisty business moves. This new single shows AD’s diversity as an artist, something we haven’t seen in a while. You can check him out weekly on his own platform Cuhmunnity on YoutTube something he and his current manager Pun host together. Please make no mistake though, These two are wordsmiths with a passion for Hip Hop and its unique expression of independence and individual style. What makes what they are doing cool is just that nobody sounds like either artist it’s authentic music based on their daily lives and hustle. JasonMartin never gave up, he successfully launched his own indie label Diamond Lane Music Group, and dropped several classic songs like “Like Whaat”, ” Don’t Be Mad at Me”, “Say That Then (feat. G Malone)” and more. This recent rebrand and move to JasonMartin began after a 10 Year anniversary of the Mollywood mixtape series. With guest appearances by EastSide K-Boy, RjMrLa, Damar Derozen, Wallie The Sensei, and more. Which was a night of celebration but more of a closing of chapters and the launching of JasonMartin. The new album is definitely different and feels creative, introspective. The substance and topics are relative and relatable. You can feel JasonMartin who in my opinion has matured and is open to a wider variety of conversation and topic points within the music. This transition is appropriate and hats off to JasonMartin for having the gull to evolve and add something special and personal to the game. Give the album some play time! The SugaKane album has been talked about for a few years. Many thought it was a unicorn and would never manifest. But! it’s here and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Suga Free is masterful as usual with his pace heavy flow and game-laced wordplay. Kokane adds the silk to each song and delivers with his signature hooks and adlibs. This combination with no interruptions is something to be celebrated. The production is perfection with several remakes to 70’s and 80’s funk classics the Pimpish duo effortlessly glide over. All in all, this is a win for West Coast Hip Hop and Hip Hop en-general. When two players meet oh what a treat. Check this album out! This isn’t the first Wack 100 diss song, but to date, it is proven to be the most heard. Diggs held nothing back on the diss everything from the beat selection to the lyrics and the video itself, are sharp and meant to deliver a hefty blow. Wack 100 has been attempting to make a name for himself outside of music management by talking on the once-popular mobile app Clubhouse. Clubhouse sprung to popularity during the height of the pandemic when most were stuck in their house or on long vacations around the world. Wack seemingly took this as an opportunity to be heard. But instead of using it to drive business and raise the western region to its once-prominent music industry dominance, Wack decided to take the Ricky Lake, and Wendy Williams route. There have been many disappointing and embarrassing moments sense. The West Coast can definitely benefit from getting back to making music that influences the world. But for now, we will put this “3 Finger Wack” track on repeat. The track pulls from the 50 Cent mega-hit “In Da Club” from the early ’00s and was produced by Sean T. Digg’s brings out what looks like the entire Bay Area for this video, which was shot and edited by Bub The SOP.
